Dr. Sarup Prasad Ghosh received education from some of the most renowned institutions of the nation, like South Point School, Narendrapur Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and Jadavpur University, Kolkata. His Ph.D. is from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Economics and Ethics have remained the main areas of his academic interest. His books entitled “Swami Vivekananda’s Views On The Role of Religion And Caste in India’s Socio-Political Life : A Contemporary Perspective” and “ Swami Vivekananda’s Economic Thought In Modern International Perspective : India As A Case Study” are already published and have been acclaimed by the readers.
He was the first Registrar of Birbhum Institute of Engineering and Technology, Suri. At present he is the Registrar of Techno India College of Technology, Newtown, Kolkata. He is closely associated with the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Vedanta movement and has strong ideological affinity with the Ramakrishna Mission. As an honourary Research Fellow of the Department of Indological Studies he has taken up the project of writing a research encyclopedia on the ideas of Swami Vivekananda. Being an orator of repute he is often heard in Radio and Television. He has many published articles in different journals and as a Guest-Faculty he is often invited by different Universities and Colleges to deliver special lectures on topics related to Social Sciences.
